Riserless Casting and Engineering in Large-Part Production

In casting, risers (feeders) are metal volumes added to feed the shrinkage cavities that form during solidification. However, with correct gating-feeding design and directional solidification principles, many parts can be cast without risers, or with the riser ratio minimised. This approach significantly increases metal yield (casting efficiency) and reduces the cleaning and grinding workload.

Experience in Large and Heavy Parts

Designing the gating system with modulus-based calculations makes it possible to preserve internal soundness even in castings of up to around 20 tonnes, such as ship engine blocks and heavy industrial parts. Our long-standing engineering experience in green sand moulding and feeding technology ensures dimensional stability and a structure free of shrinkage cavities in large parts.
